Lake District Challenge - 8th to 12th Sep 2010

Join Sense Scotland as we take on a 101km route of 27 Bob Graham peaks in 3 days.

Sense Scotland are looking for people to sign up for a fantastic walking challenge. The Lake District Challenge has been organised by our volunteer fundraising group, in conjunction with Sense UK, to raise money for deafblind and disabled children and adults throughout the country.

The challenge will take place over five days in September (three days walking) and will take in some spectacular peaks as we follow in the footsteps of Bob Graham; the Lakes legend who completed a full round of 42 peaks in 24 hours back in 1932.

There's a registration fee of £475 which covers all costs for the event and a sponsorship target of £1,000. A full sponsorship pack will be provided for all participants.

For further details download the info pack below and contact us on 0141 429 0294 or email ahughes@sensescotland.org.uk for an entry form.

Funways

Try Funways to challenge yourself and help children & adults who face challenges every day of their lives due to deafblindness, sensory-impairment, physical or learning disabilities.

Sense Scotland was established by parents of deafbind children in the 1970s and is still run by family members. We now work with over 1000 children, adults and their families throughout Scotland.

By supporting Sense Scotland you will help to fund some of our key services, such as:

Working with disabled children at the family resource centre to develop individual communication methods with each child and their family.

Supporting people to live independently in their own homes and providing new opportunities for some very remarkable young people.

Giving disabled children the opportunity to go on a specialist outdoor activity holiday, greatly benefiting their personal development and allowing their families much-needed respite.

If you have any specific queries you can e-mail or phone us on 0141 429 0294.
